His research team, CityU Architecture Lab for Arithmetic and Security (CALAS), focuses on the following research topics: reconfigurable trusted computing, SoC VLSI designs, cryptography, and embedded biomedical VLSI designs. Dr. Cheung is the director of the CityU Apps Lab, fostering student innovations on and off campus. He is also the general chair of the 8th International Symposium on Applied Reconfigurable Computing 2012, International Conference on Cyber-crime and Computer Forensic 2013.

    Prior to Samsung, Lachlan worked for Cisco Systems and video technology group NDS where he was focused on technical solution sales and customer engagement, inclusive of having led a team of consultants across the Asia Pacific region.

    Lachlan received a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic and Telecommunications) from Curtin University of Technology in Australia and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
